A great deal of THANKS to the following:
The Guardian Angels were first on the scene to offer their assistance and manpower in the search for Phylicia. They went door to door handing out fliers. They solicited the community for information and for additional help. They coordinated searches and made public stand for media attention.
Don Rondeau came to the Barnes family and open heartedly offered the assistance of his company TSSI, Inc and a $5,000 reward. This reward still stands for the arrest and conviction of the responsible party.
*FAITH*HOPE*LOVE* a slogan developed by the student and friends of Phylicia at her school, Union Academy. Our hearts go out to the Staff and Students who were torn by such a tragic loss. Phylicia was set to graduate this year and her class was devastated to have to cross the stage with out her. Phylicia’s high schoo diploma was awarded to her mother, Janis Sallis.
These ladies and their fans rock!! Helping out their two derby sisters (Phylicia’s cousins) by raising $1,000 at a single bout and then the league donated another $1,000 to help with travel and flyer expenses. They assisted everyday with promoting awareness and hanging/passing out flyers. They went door-to-door, asking for any information.
Mount Pleasant opened their doors to the Barnes Family on May 14, 2011. Phylicia’s Celebration of Life Service was held at Mount Pleasant. Officiator of the memorial was Pastor LaRondi Flowers.
